Mavididi's Match-Saving Strike Earns Leicester City A Vital Point
Substitute Admiral Muskwe scored a stoppage-time equaliser as Luton came from behind to hold 10-man Leicester to a 1-1 draw in the FA Cup fifth round on Wednesday.
Leicester had taken the lead through Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall, who produced a moment of magic on the stroke of half-time to send the Premier League side in ahead.
The visitors had Foxes debutant Wout Faes to thank for preserving that lead until the 68th minute, the defender making a stunning goalline clearance from Elijah Adebayo's header.
But Leicester were reduced to 10 men when Harry Souttar was sent off for a second bookable offence with 18 minutes remaining, and substitute Muskwe punished them, firing home from close range to set up a replay at Kenilworth Road.
Dewsbury-Hall's Moment of Magic
Leicester, beaten in last season's semi-finals, were much-changed from the side that drew 4-1 with Tottenham in the league on Saturday.
But they still had enough quality to take the lead in style in the 40th minute, with Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall the architect.
The Foxes midfielder picked the ball up in his own half and drove forward unchallenged
He exchanged passes with Harvey Barnes before driving into the Luton area and curling a left-footed shot beyond Ethan Horvath.
Faes To The Rescue
Dewsbury-Hall's goal looked to have put Leicester in control, but Luton almost equalised on the stroke of half-time.
Elijah Adebayo met Fred Onyedinma's cross at the far post and powered a header towards goal, but Leicester debutant Wout Faes produced a stunning goalline clearance to keep the visitors ahead.
Souttar Sent Off
Leicester continued to dominate possession after the break, but they were unable to add to their lead and were made to pay for their profligacy when Harry Souttar was sent off.
The Australian had already been booked in the first half for a foul on Adebayo, and he picked up his second yellow card for a challenge on Allan Campbell.
Muskwe's Equaliser
Luton sensed their chance and pushed forward in search of an equaliser.
They finally got their reward in the 90th minute when Muskwe, who had only been on the pitch for a few minutes, fired home from close range after good work from Onyedinma.
Conclusion
Leicester will be disappointed not to have seen out the win, but they will be relieved to have avoided a potentially embarrassing defeat.
Luton, meanwhile, will be delighted to have taken a Premier League side to a replay, and they will fancy their chances of causing an upset at Kenilworth Road.
